Cravings of a Hungry Ghost
This is my second poetry book, comprised of 16 poems and paintings created in Sayulita, Mexico. With these art pieces I continue to use a limited palette of paints and collaged elements to help tap into a more stylized and dreamlike world. These paintings serve as jumping off points for a deep and playful exploration of ideas and feelings through poetry. I have found the open-ended form of poetic language to be a perfect match with this new style of illustrations.
Permission To Grumble!
“Permission to Grumble!” began as 14 paintings created in Marrakesh, Morocco. Combining travel with art-making taps me into the energy of the land each time. This historical location, filled with dessert magic, inspired a dreamlike painting style comprised of a limited pallet and collage. This series of works inspired a poetic writing style different from my other illustrated books. I am proud to say, this is my first of a series of new books of poetry.

Men Rrrr dogs
The Humorist book called “Men Rrrr Dogs” written and illustrated by Doug Hammett, doesn’t hold back in any sense. The imagery comes from the series of works made in 2009 centered on the tumescent membered Man Dogs.
Following the tradition of phallus worship found around the world such as found in India and Bali, ones sexually is not held back by shame or prudence. Don’t worry yourself too much, it has a very happy ending.
AnatomyXchange
"Anatomy X Change" documents Brad Davis’s furry life forms created during the covid pandemic. Brad has taken an art form, we saw at Burning Man called Franken-Stuffs, to a whole new level. Thrift store stuffed toys are not safe in his hands. Limbs, bodies, and heads from different animals are detached and joined together to create new colorful lifeforms. The book documents these precarious creatures and playfully names their newly discovered species’ classification.

The "Journey of the Bearded Tarot," deck is comprised of 78 illustrated cards by Doug Hammett. Each card carries the traditional archetypal meaning with a fresh approach to the imagery of the Tarot.
These cards speak to a universal story of humankind’s heroic journey into finding purpose and meaning in this complex universe. 22 cards comprise the Major Arcana (Big Secret) that portray the essential steps in one’s life moving towards enlightenment. The other 56 cards make up the Minor Arcana (Little Secret) that take one through an initiation through the 4 elements of Water, Air, Fire, and Earth.

The “Bearded Journey Tarot” deck is a black and white version of my original illustrated deck called “Journey of the Bearded Tarot”. As in the original deck these cards can be laid out in a linear fashion, following the lineup of this website, revealing several hidden journeys through both Major and Minor Arcana.
